REGIONAL WEATHER POLICY
Inclement weather or unsafe field conditions may necessitate from time to time the cancelling of games. Any such cancellation will be made at the discretion of the Regional Commissioner, the Regional Safety Director, or the Regional Coach Administrator as early as practical before the game time.
ALL Region 190 games are canceled if a tornado watch or warning is in effect for Macomb County within 30 minutes prior to a game time. Example: if a tornado watch or warning for Macomb expires at 6:00 PM and the game's start time is 6:30, the game will be played.
Notification for canceled games will be sent via email to all affected players and coaches. Additional information may be sent via other sources such as mobile apps or text messages from coaches.
At all other times, teams must report to the fields or they shall forfeit the game.
Cancellation of games can only be made by the assigned referee at the field. If no referee is present at game time, the game may be canceled by the coaches on the field only if there is thunder, lightning or hazardous field conditions.
Referees may, after discussing it with the coaches prior to the start of the game, adjust the length game to try to complete before impending bad weather arrives or due to lighting conditions, etc. A referee may end a game early due to inclement weather or lighting conditions that prevent the game from continuing in a safe manor. If the second half of the game has started, it will be considered a complete game and will not be rescheduled. If it is still in the first half, then the teams will attempt to reschedule prior to the end of the season.
Away Games will be cancelled by the hosting region at their discretion and the coach will be notified.
Tournament games will be postponed or abandoned as specified by the tournament rule and the game officials. The hosting region will provide the tournament rules for postponing or abandoning games.
